New GM at South West's premier hotel
Press Release, 25.05.2011
A new general manager has been appointed at the region’s premier hotel, health club and spa.
Colin Badcock has joined DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury, North Somerset where he will take control of the day-to-day running of the four-star hotel and house.
Having worked for over 20 years across the hotel sector, Colin brings considerable corporate experience to what is now regarded as the region’s number one destination hotel, restaurant, health club and spa.
This includes Director of Operations at the Marriot Royal in Bristol, Operations Manager at the Cardiff Marriot and more recently General Manager at Ramada Gloucester, Bowden Hall.
A member of the Cotswold & Forest of Dean tourist board Colin recently joined Gloucester’s Marketing board and is looking forward to developing similar links with the business and tourist sectors in Bristol, North Somerset and across the South West.
Commenting on his appointment Colin said: “DoubleTree by Hilton is regarded by many as being one of the premier brands across the hotel sector, with Cadbury House being a flagship venue in the UK.
“It has already gained a considerable reputation within the hotel and leisure sector and it’s a very exciting time to join. With Cadbury House being part of a privately owned business I’m delighted to be part of a group that has total autonomy in what it does which will provide endless opportunities to improve the offer.
“Cadbury House is totally unique and is the only venue of its kind that can offer four-star accommodation, premier conference facilities, a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and health club and spa all within the same grounds.
“In addition there is no other venue that can offer parking for up to 350 cars making it the ideal venue for many corporate conferences and meetings.
“It’s this offer we’ll be looking to consolidate by working closely with those that have already made it the success it is.”
Nick Taplin, co-owner of DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House added: “I’m delighted that Colin has joined us at Cadbury House. He has an excellent track record and his ambition and drive will ensure it maintains the high standards our customers now expect.”
