Voted by experts in the field of health, fitness and well-being, it came first in the highly coveted Health Club of the Year category at the National Fitness Awards.

The awards, which were organised by Script Events and industry publication Workout, recognise excellence and achievement in all corners of the industry.

With clubs from as far afield as Northern Ireland and Scotland shortlisted, the breadth and quality of the competition was intense, however the judges decided that the Congresbury-based venue was the pick of the crop from over 100 category entries.

It is also the third time theclubandspa has been declared the best in the business having won the Health Club of the Year award twice before and is an achievement never to have been completed previously.

Jason Eaton, general manager at the popular club said: “The National Fitness Awards are regarded as being the Oscars of the health and fitness sector.

Judges, who visited the venue as part of the assessment, were particularly impressed by the range and quality of the facilities, classes and constant investment in new equipment and space for members.

This has included the complete £1 million refurbishment of the gym area which is now regarded as being the most technically advanced in the region.
