And having endured a somewhat difficult 18 months, it’s hardly surprising a lot of people found it hard to cope.

As general manager of the club and spa at Cadbury House in Congresbury, Jason Eaton is all too familiar with the daily concerns many people have had and are still having.

Jason said: “People’s anxieties and concerns has quite rightly been at the forefront of a lot of people’s discussions of late. Everyone has had to cope with their own struggles in one way or other over the last 18 months, so it’s important we all lend each other a helping hand.”

For Jason, one way to help people cope with any anxieties they may have is by undertaking regular exercise.

He added: “Those who exercise regularly do so because it gives them an enormous sense of well-being. It doesn’t have to be strenuous but as long as you do something goes a long way to destress and shake off any worries. Even modest amounts of exercise can and do make a real difference.

“Regular exercise helps you sleep better, gives you more energy throughout the day and helps you feel generally better about yourself.

“Here at the club, the team are on hand to simply have a chat about how people are feeling and how putting in place a programme of activity can and will help with people’s moods and general outlook on life.

“It doesn’t matter about how fit you are or how old you are. Exercise is a great means to help deal with any form of mental health issues people may be suffering from.

“We’re a friendly bunch here at the club and the members all look out for each other so making it a very convivial and friendly environment to be around.

“There’s plenty of options as well from moderate right up to more intense workouts. Whatever you want, we’re here to help.”
